Offline archival for production media

Long-term data preservation

Colorwise creates verified LTO archives for film, television, documentary, and commercial productions. Camera originals, project assets, post-production files, and final masters are written to tape with documented integrity checks and a clear path for future restoration.

Offline security

A durable layer in a wider backup strategy

Once removed from the drive, LTO tape is physically offline. This reduces exposure to ransomware, accidental deletion, online-service failure, and faults that can affect permanently connected storage.

LTO media is designed for long-term preservation when stored and handled under appropriate environmental conditions. For irreplaceable material, we recommend at least two verified copies stored in separate physical locations. An LTO archive should form part of a documented backup strategy rather than remain the only copy of a project.
